"My bike rode so smoothly this morning!
Excellent work, as usual, Ted."

-Dawn Walhausen

"Thanks for setting up the CX bikes - fast, efficient, best bike repair I have seen yet!!

-Raymond Sabolich

"I took my hybrid in for a tune-up in preparation for a 300+ mile cycling trip and got it back quickly and in "excellent" condition--with a thorough explanation of the work done. Ted operates a one-man shop, as a result you get friendly, personal service and reasonable rates.I should add that I had previously taken my bike to REI after a brake failed and they told me I had to have new cables installed . The kid there told me that my cables were too short because they were stretched, which made absolutely no sense to me. Not surprisingly, Ted was able to tighten the existing cables--with no mention of needing to replace them--and now my brakes work like new. It's refreshing to find someone you can trust and not have to worry about getting ripped off. So I'd certainly recommend Ted for all of your bike repair needs."

This is Ted. Actually, this is not Ted. This is my bike. I bought it from my friend, Ted, who owns and operates Ted's Excellent Bike Repair on Carson Street. Yes, friend, even a pilot needs a bike to get around when the plane is already rented or undergoing maintenance. Ted treated us right and he'll treat you right. I have two of his bikes.
You should have two, too!

"OK. Ted gets all the stars for thoroughness. Currently he is hammering away on the front rim, after he could easily have sent me out the door on a new tire fully inflated and got his money. But instead he chose to check it out carefully after asking me about how the tire had blown out. Found a dent. He likely saved me repeated tire loss because of thoroughly checking out the rim. And Ted won't gouge you for his careful attention to detail. Nice work getting a new faithful customer."

"If you have a bike and need it fixed, there is no reason to go anywhere else.  Seriously, this place is a gem.  You could search the entire country and not find too many places like this.  I'm glad he's here in Pittsburgh. Ted knows what he's talking about and doesn't give you any attitude.  You get personalized, HONEST and fair advice and service.  If you want attitude, bs, and a place that will nickel and dime you, there are a couple bike shops in Squirrel Hill you can go to. Like Ted says, he's your hardworking, local bike repair guy."
